Impact
The School Rating system will provide a common language for communicating school quality to parents, funding bodies, and community members about the academic performance of individual schools. A guidebook with school quality ratings will launch in October 2019.

Harvard Strategic Data Fellows

Detroit Children’s Fund will fund the Harvard Strategic Data Fellow Program to address DPSCD’s broken data infrastructure and strategy. The grant will enable a build-out of a dynamic data team for DPSCD including (1) agency fellow and (2) data fellows. This team will address the core set of the district’s data needs, including updating old data and developing a strong data strategy, to ensure that the district has reliable data to improve student outcomes.

Schools Impacted
All 101 DPSCD schools

Impact
The programs will give all DPSCD teachers and leaders access to an instructionally useful student information system. This will not only improve data practices at all DPSCD schools, but will also give teachers and leaders the tools and insight to advance student outcomes.
